It’s worse than it sounds. You never know what might happen in wrestling as far an injury is concerned. Every now and then something is going to happen to a wrestler and things aren’t going to go well from there. It can change plans either in the short or long term, which can throw large monkey wrenches into various future booking ideas. We might be reaching that point in NXT.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Message Board by way of Ringsidenews.com, the previously mentioned groin injury to Aleister Black may be more serious than previously expected. While Black has yet to be pulled from the upcoming Takeover: Brooklyn IV card, it is becoming a stronger possibility. Black will be in a triple threat match for the NXT Title which will be announced this week on NXT.
Hopefully he can get back to this level.
Opinion: Well that’s not good. I’m not sure if Black is going to be able to perform in Brooklyn or not, but there’s always the chance that he’s going to be wrestling at half speed or something even lower than that. The silver lining to the whole thing is the fact that since it’s a triple threat match, there is the simple option of just switching the match to a singles version instead of the three way. Or someone could be swapped in instead.
Do you think Black will wrestle at the show? If not, what should NXT do instead? Let us know in the comments below.
