They’re still talking. There are certain moments that take place in wrestling that take on lives of their own. It might be something that you did not even see when it originally happened but the way people talk about it turns things into that much bigger of a deal. That was the case a few years ago and now one of the people involved is being asked about it again.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: Shane McMahon Meets With Tony Khan, McMahon Comments
Last year at AEW All In, a backstage incident took place between CM Punk and Jack Perry, with AEW President Tony Khan also getting involved. Footage of the incident was later shown on the April 10, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite. Punk was asked about the footage airing on the SI Media Podcast and said it felt “really ugly” but added that it didn’t help AEW or hurt him. He also said that it was “pretty wild” to be the “top draw in two different companies”. Punk finished by saying “thanks, guys” as a reference to Khan. Punk is set to face Drew McIntyre this weekend at Summerslam.

Opinion: This is one of those situations that has become such a huge deal despite the footage itself not really showing that much. It is rather amazing that something which didn’t even last two minutes wound up changing so many things. It’s also not surprising that Punk is being asked about it over and over, as it wound up being that much of a game changer in wrestling, both for Punk and AEW.
