That’s a different way of doing things. Cinematic wrestling has certainly become a much bigger deal in recent years and there is no sign that it is slowing down. The Coronavirus pandemic has caused it to see an even stronger surge as they allow a great deal more creativity over a match on a smaller, controlled set. WWE has been doing several of them this year and now now AEW is trying to catch up a bit.
We are less than two days away from All Out and most of the card is already set. However there is still time to tweak a match or two and that is what we are going to be seeing. One of the longer built feuds for the show is Britt Baker vs. Big Swole as Baker has been injured and unable to get in the ring for the last few months. That will not change on Saturday, but the match will still take place.
During an appearance on AEW Unrestricted, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Baker vs. Big Swole’s Tooth and Nail match will be falls count anywhere. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the match will be shot in a cinematic style and will take place in Baker’s dental office. The match has been confirmed as taking place during the Buy In shot at All Out.
I think they’re ready. Check out the final push towards the match:
Opinion: That works well enough and I’m rather looking forward to seeing what AEW can do with such a match. They can be incredibly entertaining under the right circumstances and Baker could do some great stuff with this kind of atmosphere. The match should be a lot of fun and I can go with the cinematic stuff in a unique location which makes sense for what they’re doing, which is the case here.
Do you like the idea? Where else should a cinematic match take place? Let us know in the comments below.
