The boss isn’t pleased. There are a lot of people who come together to make AEW work but perhaps the most important is the company’s president Tony Khan. In addition to being the company’s booker and financial backer, he is also the ultimate boss in the company. That means he has to be the final authority figure when something goes wrong. It seems that is the case again, at least according to Khan.
Over the weekend, news broke that Orange Cassidy was set to debut the song “Jane” by Jefferson Starship as his new theme music. This did not happen as the deal was not completed, but Khan referenced it during the Forbidden Door media scrum. Khan was not happy that the news about the new song leaked, calling such leaks “really shameful” as the entrance could have caused a pop from the crowd. He went on to say that it was ridiculous that he had to address the situation because someone in the back said something they shouldn’t have said.
Opinion: While I can understand why Khan is annoyed at the leaks, he might be overreacting just a bit. Is it that big of a deal for the fans to know that something new is coming? Cassidy is still the same wrestler and would be in the same spot on the show, but with different music. Khan did have something special planned, but I don’t know if it was so far as to call it shameful.
What did you think of Khan’s comments? Will the new music be an upgrade? Let us know in the comments below.
