Interpromotional arguing. There are a lot of talented people throughout the wrestling world but not all of them work for the same promotions. While WWE still rules the wrestling landscape, the rise of AEW has opened the door for another major promotion. The two companies have done battle before and now they are doing it again, this time over a former WWE star.
Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon during her time in WWE, made her AEW debut at Double Or Nothing and has set her sights on Jade Cargill and the TBS Title. This led to Cargill saying that Athena has changed her look since coming to AEW, referencing meetings that Athena said took place during her time in NXT where she was encouraged to dress more like Mandy Rose. Athena responded, saying that Cargill looked like Rose and Charlotte. WWE’s Alexa Bliss chimed in, saying she wasn’t sure who Cargill was in the first place.
You ask me. You look rather “Mandy-ish”. I thought you weren’t trying to be sexy? ? got close to a REAL goddess and seen you have to switch it up! ?? but you guys want this woman to take my spot? Bitch GTFOH. @AthenaPalmer_FG @AEW https://t.co/2fpN3kGfnn

.@Jade_Cargill that's real rich coming from someone who's also buff blonde… Mandy & Charlotte are already taken. Move on hussy. I hope you keep that same energy next time I see you…

I’d love to get mad at someone who’s coming after my bestie… but I’m still trying to figure out who the heck they even are … ? @AthenaPalmer_FG pic.twitter.com/oCS7AEJ4MI

Opinion: I can always go for some sniping like this and Bliss got in a great line at the end. Athena is rapidly finding her place in AEW and having Cargill take her out could mean a lot to the TBS Title reign. At the same time, Bliss is the most established of them all and seeing her get in that kind of a jab made the whole thing that more notable. It isn’t something that will ever result in Bliss vs. Cargill, but it was entertaining from here.
What do you think of the exchange? Who got in the best line? Let us know in the comments below.
