Despite many believing that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will work against one another or McMahon himself, that does not appear to be the case. Through Meltzer, NoDQ explains that Owens and Zayn are instead going to participate in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale.
As for McMahon, NoDQ includes a few quotes from RingsideNews on what the commissioner is expected to do.
“It looks like plans have recently changed and now Shane McMahon’s match, it sounds like his opponent will be Dolph Ziggler. From what I’ve been told, that’s what they are looking to do.”
Shepard continued, “Shane has got to have his match and Dolph has never had a singles match at WrestleMania. It will be a good match, that’s fine. Not everything I am dying to see but.. That will be something to watch for if they do go with that — we should start seeing that build soon.”
If this is true, it is really up for debate as to who goes over. McMahon has a tendency to put his opponents over and it would be a fantastic spotlight to show fans just how talented Ziggler is.
The real unknown factor going into this is the contract of Ziggler, as he recently signed a new deal where many believe he won’t be winning any major matches or Championships.
Could this be the end of McMahon’s losing streak, or will Ziggler get the huge ‘WrestleMania’ victory he’d love?
