Despite defeating Big Cass at Backlash, fans were furious when Daniel Bryan was defeated by Rusev on SmackDown Live. This was a match created in order for the victor to join Money in the Bank.
Alvarez had the following to say after the show to fans furious Bryan didn’t win:
“He ain’t leaving. You guys watch the show? He lost and then for two minutes they showed him sitting on the apron looking very disappointed in himself. There’s a story being told here. The story is he has a long journey to work his way back to the WWE Title. That’s the story they’re telling so chill out and let’s see how it goes. It’s okay to lose once in a while.”
Bryan was only cleared just prior to WrestleMania 34. There has been a number of comments made about Bryan’s contract but it appears now that he is able to compete and is actively been used by the company he will re-sign again.
