16-time World Champion John Cena is one of the most well-known WWE Superstars in history. Over the course of his career, Cena has won countless Championships and solidified himself as a future WWE Hall of Famer.

In the past few years, the Cenation leader has been increasingly involved in the acting world. In fact, Cena is currently in Vancouver filming a movie called “Playing With Fire.”

Cena has now confirmed that despite his obligations to film, he will be doing a book signing for “Elbow Grease” in New York City. This will, as you can guess, take place during WrestleMania 35 weekend. This confirms he will be in town for the show.

So who is he rumored to face in a Championship match?

During the most recent edition of SmackDown Live, Samoa Joe captured the WWE United States Championship. Joe was able to defeat R-Truth, Rey Mysterio, and Andrade in a fatal 4-way match.

During his post-match promo on SmackDown Live, Joe had some very interesting words in reference to Cena. Check out the video below to hear what he had to say:

As Wrestling Inc transcribe:

“Let me cut you off right there. Accusations? No gentlemen, they were not making accusations. They were merely unanswered prayers. Because every SmackDown Superstar, they know the lengths I’ll go to win gold and they fear what I’ll do to keep it. You see, gentlemen, it’s quite simple – the champ is not one to come out here and do dance breaks. I don’t pander to the masses of the unexceptional, and I sure as hell ain’t a man who loves John Cena. Hustle, loyalty, and respect? No, no, no. All my opponents will find is disrespect, for any man who has the audacity to come for the king and his crown. And to all you SmackDown Superstars who wanna lie awake at night, every night, having nightmares about the day you might step in the ring against me – rest assured boys, I’ll be along soon enough to make you all go night-night.”

Furthermore, Ringside News is reporting that a proverbial bout between Cena and Lars Sullivan will no longer be taking place. The site has reportedly been told that the idea in WWE is for Joe and Cena to meet at WrestleMania.

Given that Cena and Joe have history, this seems the perfect fit for both men into the WrestleMania card. Stay tuned to Wrestling Rumors for updates on this potential match.

Editor’s Note:

I would love to see this match. The two, as mentioned, have a history. I think they could play into that for WrestleMania.
