As we previously reported, WWE is intent on creating a new WWE Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship to fit in with the revival of the 205 Live brand now that Triple H is in charge of it.
If this Championship rumor wasn’t enough to convince you that it will happen, on the latest episode of 205 Live, General Manager Drake Maverick had Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami team up to face two local enhancement talent in a victorious effort.
Check that match out below.
This is notable as there was no particular reason for Maverick to have the two team and face jobbers if not for this. Other possible teams may include any of the masked luchadores as a combination, Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne, Drew Gulak and Tony Nese, Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander, Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick among others. The Singh Brothers, if they were to return to the brand, could work that too.
Facebook and Twitter have now revealed leaked images of the supposed design. We have it shown below, though we should remind you that this may be eventually proven as fake so take it with a grain of salt.
