Update on Alberto Del Rio Potentially Returning to WWE

We have an update on former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio (El Patron) potentially returning to the company if a report from PWInsider is to be believed.

While he currently works for Impact Wrestling, Del Rio was at WWE HQ in Stamford, Connecticut last week where he was shooting interview footage of what is to be a future project on Rey Mysterio.

There Del Rio reportedly met with Vince McMahon, who has made it clear he is a fan of the former WWE Superstar and wants him back in the company.

Del Rio is currently under contract with Impact, though this expires next month. While the company are hoping to re-sign him, McMahon may indeed have the ‘Mexican Aristocrat’ back in his company by years end.

It was announced that Del Rio will be working AAA’s ‘TripleMania’ show on August 25 in Mexico City, but has not signed a regular contract and will be only working that date. For people unfamiliar with ‘TripleMania,’ they may remember the Rosemary/Sexy Star incident which took place at last year’s event.

It is very possible that if he returns to WWE, the company would honor his commitment to AAA and allow him to compete at the show.
