The WWE Network launched in the United States rather successfully without much issue (sans low-subscriber counts), and has built into a quality platform for the company. However, its international branding was not as successful.
The network struggled to get off the ground in the United Kingdom and Ireland for some time, but eventually found its way over. Additionally, it was only first available via Rogers Communications in Canada, but slowly began to expand. It was then available on computer devices, but only through proven cable subscriptions.
However, according to PWInsider, the WWE Network is now available on mobile Android devices through the WWE App. No word as of yet as to what it means for iPhone users, but it appears anyone who has an Android can just sync up to the WWE App and use the WWE Network.
The network is currently available on all smartphones for those in other markets, alongside streaming and video game devices as well.
In relation to the news, the outlet also notes the WWE Network cleared the Shaw Cable company, meaning it will continue to become more readily available for Canadians.
Editor’s Note
The more available it is, the better. It needs as many subscribers as it can get. I personally would not watch on my phone unless necessary. I don’t see the merits of watching the programming on a small screen.
