There has been a multitude of speculation regarding the direction of WWE creative over the past several weeks, which has resulted in lower ratings for WWE’s signature program, “Monday Night Raw.”

But according to a new report, there appears to at least be some sort of direction established for the long run with the company.

F4WOnline.com is reporting as of this past weekend, WWE officials have “locked in” a main event for WrestleMania 31 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The main event of WrestleMania 31 has been something that has reportedly caused a riff in WWE management over the past several months. Not long ago, it was noted Vince McMahon and Triple H, the two figureheads of the company’s direction, were at odds over the headliner for the big show. McMahon had supposedly been more interested in a bout that would see WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar defend his title over The Rock, who returned this past week on “RAW.”

Triple H, however, is a well-known supporter of the youth movement, and reportedly backed Roman Reigns as his opponent.

There has been a source of controversy regarding Lesnar among many fans as of late, as the champion is not currently advertised for any WWE events for the remainder of 2014. Simultaneously, Reigns is expected to return from injury sometime within the next several months, with the best-case scenario having been four-to-six weeks since his surgery.

Editor’s Note

WWE will have to wow people with the main event of the biggest show of the year, especially having to follow up last year’s epic main event. Reigns is a logical choice, but they will need him to be a mega-star by the time of the event, and for people to still care about Lesnar.
