Wednesday night, Wrestling Rumors noted new details of the injury sustained by former WWE Tag Team Champion Tyson Kidd. While wrestling a match against the debuting-Samoa Joe during the tapings for “Superstars,” Kidd reportedly took a bad bump that left him needing to be checked out by officials.
The reports as of Wednesday indicated Kidd injured his spinal cord on the move, and his status going forward was unknown. However, in a new update provided by PWInsider, there seems to be a little more knowledge towards his diagnosis.
According to the outlet, Kidd is likely to miss several months of action due to the injury. While the true extent of the injury is not publicly available, PWInsider reports it to be a neck injury. It notes this has been the talk of wrestler’s backstage, though they haven’t been able to get a clear diagnosis out of it.
This new report would support what was said Wednesday, as WWE pulled the “Best Team Ever” (Cesaro and Kidd) from all of its live event listings. The duo is still announced for the WWE Network live event special on July 4, though obviously, their status is very much up in the air for that as well. They were originally scheduled to take on the New Day in tag team action.
It is said the injury occurred when Kidd was taking a muscle buster from Joe. He reportedly landed on the base of his neck, instantly putting pressure on the area. If this were the case, it would support both reports of a neck and spinal cord injury of some sorts.
The accident appears to be no more than a fluke, as no one has accused Joe of being directly responsible for it. Should Kidd be out several months, the status of his tag team partner Cesaro remains to be seen.

Not good. Obviously, wishing him a speedy recovery.
