Last month, Destination America shocked the wrestling world when it announced Ring Of Honor would be bringing its programming to the station as a lead-in to “IMPACT WRESTLING.” Many presumed this would be the end of “IMPACT” on the station, as the channel reportedly plans on pulling the plug on TNA in September. However, recent reports indicated TNA has been assured Discovery was looking to use this as an opportunity to market the station as the “destination” for all wrestling.

A new press release issued by the channel ahead of the Wednesday night premiere seems to confirm such. It reads as followeD:

Destination America packs the heat on Wednesday with brand-new premieres of IMPACT WRESTLING and RING OF HONOR!

RING OF HONOR premieres on Wednesday, June 3 at 8/9c leading into IMPACT WRESTLING

Destination America is excited about its continued collaboration with TNA bringing new episodes of IMAPCT WRESTLING to fans now on Wednesday nights.  Acquiring RING OF HONOR as a lead-in to premieres of IMPACT WRESTLING underscores Destination America’s commitment to being a top destination for professional wrestling in the U.S. Beginning Wednesday, June 3rd, viewers can tune in for a one-two punch on Destination America with the debut of Ring of Honor at 8/7c followed by an all-new episode of Impact Wrestling at 9/8c!

RING OF HONOR starts the night at 8/9c with a match featuring the Briscoe Brothers, Mark and Jay, as they face off with the House of Truth in the main event.  Also catch athletes of New Japan Pro Wrestling battle it out with the RING OF HONOR stars and follow former NFL lineman Moose compete against BJ Whitmer.

Immediately following is a new premiere of IMPACT WRESTLING at 9/8c!

With IMPACT’S Destination X taking place Wednesday, June 10, Spud, as X Division Champion, must decide by the end of IMPACT this week if he will indeed exercise Option C. Invented by Austin Aries, Spud has the right to forfeit his X Division Title in exchange for an opportunity at The World Championship currently owned by Kurt Angle! Then, both Lashley and Eric Young, former World Champions, will hold a one-on-one encounter! The Knockouts also bring fierce competition this week, when Jade faces Brooke in one-on-one action. There will also be a big match between The Rising and The Beat Down as well as the Tag Team Champions Best of 5 Series!

Catch all the RING OF HONOR and IMPACT WRESTLING action this Wed, June 3 on Destination America starting at 8/7c!

“ROH TV” will only run through the end of the year as of now, though it may be renewed potentially in the future.

Editor’s Note

We’ll see about this. I won’t buy it unless both are airing on the channel this time next year.
