Wrestling personality Sam Roberts had a chance to speak with WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations Triple H at the WWE Performance Center recently. Below are some of the highlights.
On those in the WWE Performance Center benefitting from the facility:
“It’s funny because when you think about it, everybody that’s come before this generation didn’t have these tools. So I say to these kids all the times, we’re giving you way more than anybody’s ever been given to succeed in this business, so I’m going to expect a lot out of you.”
On what he looks for in a WWE Superstar before they go to the main roster:
“When we look for a WWE Superstar, one of the things we look first and foremost is the human being. And it’s the one thing I’ll ask whenever they bring somebody into me to make the recommendation of who’s coming in here, which I’m the last call on everybody, and everybody’s giving their recommendations, and one of the first things I ask them is ‘what’s his attitude like?’ I want them to be bigger than life, larger than life in that personality, same point in time I want to avoid those problems. So first and foremost is that person. The rest of everything else you can kind of teach.”
He was also asked if he ever envisioned himself being the man in charge:
“Nobody’s going to take Vince’s spot. One, he’ll probably outlive all of us. He’s like a cockroach, he’ll survive the nuclear holocaust and be the only one left. And he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. So I don’t really think about that, I know they put it out there to the world, and that’s part of being a publicly traded company and that’s cool. For me, it’s about making the product great, and whether people agree with that on the day we do it or not, that’s opinion, but to make the product great, to try to ensure the future, to build this, to take the business to the next level, who’s sitting in the chair at the end of the day doesn’t really matter to me.”

Editor’s Note
Triple H has a tremendous mind for it all. I cannot wait until he gets his hands on the overall operations.
