The Miz claims to be the “most must-see WWE Superstar of all-time” often on WWE programming, and WWE fans can in fact see him in many places. The most recent notch on his accolades is a guest appearance on the USA Network show “Sirens.” Miz spoke to Zap2it about his role on the show.
He spoke on how he drew inspiration for the character he portrays:
“With WWE, we’re traveling 250 days a year — we’re all over the place — and when you’re traveling all over the place, you go to all different sorts of gyms and you see different sorts of characters,” Mizanin tells Zap2it. “The character I play on ‘Sirens’ is basically a complete gym rat, and I basically took everything that I’ve ever seen in a gym.”
Miz gave more insight to the character:
“Basically, this guy is the guy that wears compression pants, the webbed feet, is grunting any time he’s doing anything, he’s flexing in the mirror, he’s wearing very tight clothes — almost nothing — he’s that guy.”
He also talked about how his appearance was influenced by being on another USA show:
“[Season 1 of ‘Sirens’] reminded me of ‘Psych’ and I did an [episode of] ‘Pysch’ a couple years ago,” says Mizanin. “‘Psych’ was such a fun, interesting show and I thought as soon as ‘Sirens’ came on, I was like, ‘Oh man, I can’t wait, I hope that someday they’ll ask me to do a role on there,’ and then it came, and I couldn’t have been more happy with the character that I get to portray.”
