Mike Francesa is famous within not just the New York sports scene, but is nationally televised on Fox Sports 1 with his program “The Mike Francesa Show.” The man many refer to as “The Czar” is often known to be disparaging towards not just callers, but especially those who attempt to bring up wrestling.
Francesa had a bit of a change of heart this past week, however.
After a caller attempted to get him to talk about wrestling, he went into an in-depth conversation with his producer Brian Monzo. Monzo is a lifelong wrestling fan himself, and tried to explain wrestling to the former football analyst.
“And you guys will be anticipating this like it’s a sporting event?” Francesa questioned as he attempted to understand the appeal of WrestleMania.
“This is amazing,” he uttered when he found out “nearly 100,000” people would be in attendance for the event. He could not fathom that WrestleMania is regarded as the Super Bowl of the business either.
As Francesa noted he never bought a ticket to a WWE event, Monzo revealed he actually gave him tickets to WrestleMania 29 unknowingly back in 2013.
