WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently took to his blog to comment on several topics going on within WWE. Below are a few of the highlights from the entry.
Ross openly discussed his disliking of the booking for Damien Sandow and Curtis Axel in their impersonation gimmicks as “The Meta Powers:”
“Sorry…no one I know likes Damien Sandow or Curtis Axel more than me but their current TV personas aren’t my cup of tea. Yep, I’m likely out of the demo but I don’t find it entertaining and I love both guys and am happy that they are being cast in something as both have talents that are yet to be fully utilized.”
He talked about the progression of The New Day, and what the stable can be doing to continuously improve:
” The New Day TV persona is easy to dislike which is step one in developing viable TV wrestling villains. Men like Michael Hayes and Arn Anderson can take talents like this under their wing and impart the wisdom of becoming true, wrestling bad guys. The trio has merely scratched the surface of what they can be and my only advice to them is to never play the role of a villain…live it…as best as one can.”
Ross also touched on what is going on with Rusev, as he and Lana have officially split on WWE television:
“Rusev has to be re-tooled/rebuilt and perhaps his issues with Lana will help that matter especially if the right fan favorite comes to her ‘rescue.’ I certainly would not give up on Rusev who is just learning the nuances of being a wrestling villain.”

Editor’s Note
The booking of Sandow, and Axel to a degree, upsets me greatly. Sandow in particular reeks of charisma, so his current gimmick is not of my taste.
