WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross took to the Q&A section of his personal website to discuss some happenings in wrestling. Below are some of the more recent highlights.
Ross gave his thoughts on Dean Ambrose, who he said shined in the three-on-three “Extreme Rules” tag match between The Shield and Evolution:
“Ambrose has a bright future as a heel or a face. He’s worked hard to develop his body and has a great aptitude for the business. He’s a little Terry Funk, Pillman and Piper all rolled into one.”
A fan also asked him if he thought Rusev would have made more sense as the winner for the United States Championship rather than Sheamus. In response, Ross replied:
“No…Rusev is too green to carry a championship match and needs to remain on a deliberate pace with constant coaching to allow him to grow into a star. He has potential and I like the package with Lana.”
Another fan blasted WWE for being “overprotective” of John Cena at “Extreme Rules” and not letting him get truly beat. Surprisingly, Ross agreed with what the fan had to say:
“Protecting someone in Cena’s position isn’t something that is new but one could argue in hindsight that WWE might have gone too far with it on Sunday night.”
More questions and answers can be found on his site, here.
Editor’s Note:
Jim Ross is the best wrestling mind in the business, in my opinion, so I found it really surprising to see him agree with the fan about Cena. Maybe even Good Ol’ J.R. is tired of the former champ’s booking?
