Asistencia Asesoría y Administración recently signed on to produce the new El Rey Network Lucha Underground series in Mexico, and has been aiming to bring in several major names to help bring legitimacy to it. It is known former ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero and WWE producer Chris DeJoseph had been signed on for it, alongside “WWE Tough Enough” outcast Martin Casaus.

In the latest news regarding the show, PWInsider reports former WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne (real name Matt Sydal) and his brother Mike have turned down deals to appear on the program. It is unknown at this time why they turned down the offer.

In doing so, the two Sydal brothers join the likes of Frankie Kazarian and the Young Bucks, who also turned it down. While no reason was immediately given for these, the speculation has been the talent is worried about the terms of the contracts being presented to them alongside the payout they may receive from the series.

Many others have been offers sports on the show, including former WWE Superstar John Morrison, Hernandez, Konnan and several others.

Tapings begin this upcoming weekend, so the company is attempting to lock names down as soon as possible.

Editor’s Note

Don’t honestly have many thoughts on this. One would think they would want the television exposure, but perhaps the indies are paying better.
