Earlier this week, a picture surfaced of former WWE star Chyna appearing at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut unexpectedly. Rumors circulated of a potential meeting between the two sides, as her name and the WWE Hall of Fame have been connected in the past.
However, WWE officials then issued a statement to PWInsider making it abundantly clear the two parties did not have a meeting of any sort, and Chyna had visited the building for her own reasons. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has revealed more details of the occurrence in his latest newsletter.
Meltzer reports this is purely a PR blitz for Chyna and her party, whom as noted, are working on a documentary regarding her return to the United States. The film, entitled “The Reconstruction of Chyna,” will look at her attempting to regain control of her life in the U.S. after living in Japan following multiple incidents that put her into negative public light. He notes nobody from WWE was even aware of the photo prior to it being released, with many even unaware she visited the building at all.
Things have been ugly between the two sides as of late. Following Triple H’s comments regarding her Hall of Fame case on “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s podcast, she has openly accused the WWE on-screen COO of multiple instances of abuse, which the company has denied publicly. There is a belief among many that these accusations have ruined her chances of a reunion with WWE at any point soon, even as she attempts to get funding for this film.
There has been no release date set for it, assuming it even gets off the ground.
Editor’s Note
Talk about digging a grave for yourself. It’s a straight up PR blitz, no doubt about it. Hopefully things work out, but don’t count on it.
