Earlier Friday, Wrestling Rumors noted longtime TNA executive Andy Barton would be leaving the company after 13 years, leaving a hole up top for the brand. Prior to this, it had been announced Eric Sherman would be brought in as the new chief strategy officer for the company, as it attempts to stabilize the ship after a period of major uncertainty with its future.
However, a current TNA executive doesn’t seem to be helping the P.R. cause for the company at all.
TNA’s Bob Ryder, who has been more than outspoken against reports of TNA’s troubles, including one stating Destination America would be likely to pull the plug on “IMPACT WRESTLING” in September, has spoken out once more. And this time, he has done so one a TNA fan forum.
Ryder posted on the “TNA Mecca” forum Thursday night, responding to reports of Ring of Honor not wanting to work with TNA, as both are on Destination America now. It was said in this past week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter TNA had wanted to run an invasion angle with ROH, but the latter was not interested. This is why TNA has been working with setting something up with Global Force Wrestling instead. Ryder noted ROH had been approached:
“We have had talks various times to see if ROH would want to do business with us. They weren’t interested at the time. Maybe we should get aggressive and go after some of their unsigned talent? That would be interesting,” Ryder said.
In the posts, he also noted ROH’s Roderick Strong was allegedly backstage at a TNA event recently, alongside ROH World Heavyweight Champion Jay Lethal. Both Strong and Lethal have a past with TNA, though there has been no indication they intend to return there.
So @brydertna was on TNA Mecca tonight acting as if he hadn’t already been soliciting ROH talent for several months. pic.twitter.com/jZi9B2qAJN

This is a disaster. Very, very bad.
