Ric Flair is perhaps the most decorated wrestler in history, so when the Nature Boy starts talking about the business, people listen. On the most recent episode of his podcast, the 16-time world champion talked about his own ideas for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
Of course, Ric only wants the best for his little girl. “I would love to see Charlotte, my daughter, against Ronda Rousey,” he said, “which I think would be huge. I know she’ll be in a main event somewhere and I think they could make that work. But, as [co-host Conrad Thompson] and I both know, Ronda has to win this month or her credibility would be hard to sell, so I just know Charlotte will be in a main event somewhere.”
“Rowdy” Ronda is going after the Women’s Bantamweight Title against Amanda Nunes. It’ll be Rousey’s first fight since her 2015 loss to Holly Holm. She’s been a long-running favorite to join the world of sports entertainment, especially with her role at WrestleMania 31 alongside the Rock.
What else does Ric want to see at Mania? How about a match between the Game and Shane O’Mac?
“I think the biggest match people want to see, but I’m not sure it’ll happen, will be Shane McMahon against Hunter. I said that last week. I mean, that would knock you off your chair and that’s not a job for a chair.”
He also thinks that a WrestleMania rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar would go much differently–at least according to his sources.
“Let me tell you this, if it’s Brock and Goldberg, which I think it is, it’ll be a lot different than what we saw last month. I’ve always said, I love Bill. They’ve got him over big time, but he’ll be in Suplex City in Orlando [Florida] if my information is correct.”
Goldberg is expected to return to WWE TV in January, and Lesnar is staying sharp with house show appearances.
