It’s Official: Women’s Championship Will Be Defended In Hell In a Cell

After some strong rumors, we were very hopeful that the finale of the Charlotte versus Sasha Banks feud would take place inside Hell in a Cell. Tonight, Raw GM Mick Foley made it official.

Charlotte will challenge Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship inside Hell in a Cell. The pair had already been booked for a title match at the pay-per-view, but the stipulation was the announcement we’d been waiting for.

It’s a historic moment for women’s wrestling in WWE, as a strong push for more serious competition in the female division has finally borne fruit. This will be the first women’s Hell in a Cell match.

Charlotte and Sasha have had a series of excellent matches, but it’s time for the pair to move forward, and there’s no better way for the feud to conclude than inside what WWE calls its most diabolical arena.

The pair have been getting terrific crowd responses, and Sasha’s title win was a Raw main event–the first time in twelve years that a women’s match closed WWE’s flagship show.

I can’t wait to see these two throw down at Hell in a Cell in Boston. The event will take place on October 30th.
