It’s the final pay-per-view before WrestleMania, and Fastlane promises to answer some of the biggest questions we’ve had going into WWE’s biggest show. All of Raw’s titles are on the line—aside from the US Championship and its sadly-wrecked owner—so there’s a lot at stake for the red brand’s biggest stars.
Raw’s tag team division has really had a rough go of it. The latter parts of the New Day’s title run were little more than a mad dash for the record reign, and the months of losses Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson had suffered didn’t make them the most credible champs. And as entertaining as Enzo Amore can be on the mic, his tag matches with Big Cass have typically been the comedy segments of Raw, which is not exactly how you build an believable championship team.
But this match was a solid step toward rebuilding both sets of competitors. Enzo and Cass showed some great resilience in fending off the attacks of Gallows and Anderson, but the champs had most of the offense. The end saw Enzo take the fall–he was down, but got his foot on the rope, though the champs shoved that foot away before the ref could see it. 1, 2, 3, champs retain, both teams look good.
