A tragic story follows a freak occurrence at a WWE live event in Portland, Maine on Saturday night. It seems someone in the stands collapsed early in the show and passed away shortly thereafter.
According to F4WOnline, it was an elderly man who collapsed and fell out of his seat at the start of the second match on the card.
The arena’s EMT gave him CPR for 20 minutes before he was sent to the Maine Medical Center and pronounced dead.
Reportedly, most fans at the show didn’t even know the tragedy had occurred, though at least one was aware and mentioned the incident on social media.
So.. ever have one of those nights where someone in the stands dies right next to you at a #wwe #wweportland event? I just did…

The match, incidentally, was R-Truth, Goldust, and Curtis Axel vs. the Shining Stars and Titus O’Neil. There’s a joke in there, but it would probably be in poor taste.
In all seriousness, the family and friends of this unfortunate fan have our condolences.
In happier news from the weekend’s live events, Sami Zayn cut a heartfelt promo in Montreal, and both Triple H and Finn Balor were in tag team action in White Plains, New York.
