Hulk Hogan was seen hanging out with “Iron” Mike Tyson today at the National Sports Collector’s Convention in Chicago, Illinois. Hogan is apparently still morning the loss of his friend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who died of cardiac arrest July 30 in his Hollywood home. Hogan posted the following message on his verified Facebook page along with pictures of him and “The Baddest Man on the Planet,”
After the news yesterday I needed someone to cheer me up. Thanks Mike much love . HH

“He was my best friend. He is a legend. God’s gain is our loss. May his family in this time of need, find peace. Much love forever, HH.”
Before his untimely death, Piper was one of the individuals who came to Hogan’s defense in regards to his use of racial slurs in a secretly taped 2006 video. In a previously reported TMZ.com interview, Piper stated,
“This is not the Hogan I know. He’s not a racist that I know of; he doesn’t have time for that. He was in the privacy of his own home, his son was going through a tough time, and he was trying to keep his family together. Do I condone his comments, no. But I feel Hogan has done much more for society than he has done negative for society. I am not going to condone one of my Hall of Famers without seeing the footage. I love you Hogan, but I understand why they’re all mad. If my kids were in the same situation, I would of done whatever I had to do.”
Editor’s Note:
Clearly the Hulkster needed to take his mind off of everything that has happened over the past couple of weeks. It is good that Hogan had a friend to turn to in Tyson to help keep him occupied. I wonder what kind of reception he got at the Convention.
