A WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match is set for “Extreme Rules.” During the April 21 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Stephanie McMahon informed WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan that he would be defending his title against the “Big Red Machine” Kane on May 4.
One week prior, Kane removed his mask from the box in which it laid during his run as “Corporate” Kane, while also revealing to the Authority that he would “eviscerate” Bryan soon. McMahon made the match official during the opening segment of “Monday Night Raw,” which saw the return as Kane in his mask.
Kane would attack Daniel Bryan violently, giving him three tombstone piledrivers outside of the ring. One would occur on the floor, one would be given on the steel ring steps, and then Kane would deliver the final tombstone to Bryan on the announce table.
Kane’s attack proves that he is a monster in kayfabe storyline. It also allows Bryan a week off of television to “heal” from the attack, when in fact, he will be spending time with his family. Bryan’s father passed away some time during Bryan and wife Brie Bella(Danielson)’s recent honeymoon, and he will likely be taking the next week to mourn with family and friends.
We at WrestlingRumors.net would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the Danielson family during this time of grief.
