According to a report by PWInsider.com, WWE superstar Batista is expected to be taking some time off after the “Extreme Rules” Special Event.

He is currently not advertised for any show beyond the May 4 event at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ.

This break has been set in stone since January as Batista will be off promoting his Guardians of the Galaxy film which will be released on Aug. 1.

He will be teaming with Triple H and Randy Orton to take on Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a six-man tag team match at “Extreme Rules.” No stipulation has been set.

Editor’s Note

Batista’s break may upset some fans, but the man has worked countless dates since returning to the company. Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to be one of the highest-grossing films of the year, so if he needs to leave to go make appearances and do interviews for the movie, so be it. He’s earned that right.
