The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided some new details surrounding WWE Tag Team title plans for WrestleMania 31 on March 29. Although a multi-team match featuring the likes of The Ascension and the Prime Time Players was first considered for the event, it seems as if WWE has changed their plans.
The Usos, as well as the current WWE Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, have always been staples of the proposed match. However, with fan response to The Ascension being less than pleasing backstage, and with PTP just recently reuniting and announcing that they’re both going to be a part of the second annual André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, it is obvious that the company is going a different direction.
As of right now, the plan is to either have a championship match pitting the Usos against Cesaro and Kidd yet again, or to include Natalya and Naomi. As seen on television over the last six weeks, Naomi and Natalya have not been very friendly to each other during this feud for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and may be added to the match at WrestleMania.
A six-person mixed tag team bout would include Natalya on Cesaro and Kidd’s team, while Naomi would fight alongside of her husband Jimmy and his brother Jey, but the WWE Tag Team Championship titles would likely not be on the line. However, this would get both Naomi and Natalya in a match on the card for WrestleMania 31 on March 29, when they otherwise would probably just be on the sidelines cheering for their husbands and their respective teammates.
Editor’s Note:
I love me some Natalya…and Kiddsaro…and the Usos…and Naomi. I’m down for whatever as long as the match is stellar, which with these guys and gals, it probably will be.
