Vickie Guerrero has been “fired” from WWE. Stephanie McMahon made the announcement after defeating Guerrero in a match during the June 23 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
Guerrero lost a match to McMahon on “RAW,” where if she would have won, she would have kept her job as the “Smackdown” General Manager. However, McMahon was successful in defeating Guerrero (by throwing her in pudding no less), thus sealing Ms. “Excuse Me’s” fate.
Guerrero was “fired” on WWE programming, but has been planning her departure from WWE for some time. Rumors made their way around the web in April that stated Guerrero was planning on retiring from the company after nine years of employment. She shot down rumors at that time, but the writing was on the wall.
WWE Creative set up the angle that would see her fired during the June 16 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” where Guerrero controversially added Reigns to a Battle Royal after Triple H had told her not to. This led to her being “future endeavored” on WWE TV, although she had been planning on leaving the company all along.
Editor’s Note:
Farewell Vickie. You truly did adapt your character into one of the BEST heels ever. Everyone wanted to hate you. I’m glad that they gave you one night as a face on your way out, and thank you for honoring Eddie in the process.
