A new report from F4Wonline.com has provided an update regarding Sting and WWE. As previously reported, a casting agency is looking to find a “Sting orchestra” of 14 people dressed in Sting makeup, as well as a Sting body-double. Originally, it was reported that this casting call was for the upcoming Sting DVD being produced by WWE. However, new reports claim that there is no association between the Sting DVD and this casting call, even though the casting company itself regularly works for WWE.
Initially, it was asked if the “Sting orchestra” would be used on “Monday Night Raw,” since the casting call was for Monday, June 16. “RAW” will emanate from Cleveland, Ohio on that night, and will not feature Sting, the Sting body-double, or the “Sting orchestra.”
According to the report, Sting has yet to sign an official WWE Legends contract, and the company has no intention of using him on their flagship show anytime soon. Multiple rumors have made their way around town in regards to Sting’s WWE status since January, with a few claiming Sting had indeed signed a WWE Legends deal, and that he could possibly wind up being the General Manager of “Monday Night Raw” before too long.
However, Sting has not yet signed on to play a role on WWE programming. It is believed that once he does agree to a contract with the company, that he will work at least one match for WWE before retiring from active competition for good. Sting reportedly wants that match to be with The Undertaker, but ‘Taker himself has said a return to the ring for the Dead Man is “not looking good.”
Although his time in the ring may be coming to an end, the “icon” may be a featured character in the upcoming WWE video game, “WWE 2K15.” WWE is also releasing a DVD on Sting set to be released on Sept. 23. WWE Shop is also creating Sting merchandise such as t-shirts and masks and will highlight his character with the moniker, “The Man Called Sting.”
Editor’s Note:
Are they trying to throw us off the trail by saying it’s not for ANYTHING related to WWE? Get out of here. It HAS to be WWE related. I’ll believe it when I see it, but a production like that HAS to be for a DVD or something.
