Former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry is currently taking time off to heal from a nagging shoulder injury. Multiple sources have reported that while Henry has been home nursing his shoulder, he has received major heat backstage. Many believe that he should still be working through this injury, as it did not require surgery. While reports of this backstage heat have been circulating online for the last few weeks, Henry remained silent and out of the public eye, not commenting on any of these reports, until June 7th.

Mark Henry and the Big Show (who is also out with a shoulder injury) stepped back out into the limelight on June 7th as part of the WWE’s new partnership with the Special Olympics. The two big men participated in the opening ceremonies of the Connecticut Special Olympic games, making their appearance the first for either man since they’ve left WWE television. Henry then took to Twitter soon after this appearance to break his silence and address the rumors of WWE backstage heat, and even regarding rumors that he’s retiring. He said…

It is uncertain as to when Henry will be returning to active competition, but apparently, he isn’t rushing back into the mix just because some feel that the current WWE main roster is thin. If the extreme heat backstage is real however, Henry could find himself sitting at home a LOT more if he doesn’t choose to return sooner than later.
