New reports have provided an update on when Kurt Angle will return to “IMPACT WRESTLING” on Destination America. As previously reported, Angle is set to have surgery to remove a tumor from his neck soon.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Angle will be out for the surgery and recovery at least three weeks. This means that Angle may not be completely healed and cleared to compete again by the time TNA tapes the next two-to-three months of “IMPACT WRESTLING” TV. If this is the case, depending on whether or not Destination America drops “IMPACT WRESTLING” from their line-up in September as initially planned, Angle may not compete again on TNA television.
Meltzer writes,
“Kurt Angle will be undergoing surgery to remove a benign tumor in his neck. Angle discovered the tumor in 2012 but up until now there was no problem associated with it. It was starting to block a nerve in his arm and he was beginning to get some atrophy in the arm so he’s having surgery to get it removed.
It’s not a major deal and he expects to be back in three weeks. It depends on the day of the surgery, but if he doesn’t get it done this week, the three weeks would mean he’ll miss the next set of tapings, and that would put him off TV until probably well into November, and who knows what the situation will be by then.”
Angle last competed against Ethan Carter III at the last set of “IMPACT WRESTLING” tapings, losing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to the young superstar.
Editor’s Note:
If TNA loses their TV deal and Angle’s last match on TV was with Carter…that’d be a damn shame. I wish WWE would reconsider bringing him back for one last run.
