Ultimate Warrior and Jake “The Snake” Roberts Engage in a War of Words

Two WWE Legends are at odds with one another, as the Ultimate Warrior and Jake “The Snake” Roberts have engaged in a war of words with one another. The conflict began shortly after Warrior was announced as the first man that will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s Class of 2014.

Roberts, who has not yet been inducted into the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame, fired the first verbal shot in this “war.” Roberts appeared on the Busted Open radio show following WWE’s announcement of the Ultimate Warrior receiving Hall of Fame honors. When asked his thoughts on Warrior being inducted while he has not yet been asked to take his place in the Hall, Roberts responded with these comments about the face-painted former WWE Champion,

“I know, man! I know that [their careers can’t be compared]. But maybe they’re taking in a**holes and not great talent. I don’t know.”

Warrior, who was seemingly told of Roberts’ comments of jealousy, responded to Roberts’ insulting words on Twitter Monday night, saying,

 

Question for former talents now “hypocrite” born-again Christians. Where do we go to find you practicing the beliefs of Christianity? Hell?

Warrior is of course taking a shot at Roberts’ faith and addictions, as “The Snake” has been open about his beliefs as a Christian since the mid-’90s. However, Roberts has struggled greatly with demons that had existing long before he became a “new man.” Drug addiction and alcoholism nearly destroyed the WWE legend, until he began living with Diamond Dallas Page. Page offered a refuge for Roberts, showing him how to regain his health and fight off temptation. However Warrior aimed for Roberts’ past weaknesses in his comments, calling him a hypocrite.

There is no telling who will aim the next “missile of hate” towards who in this war of words, but it is clear that Roberts believes that he should be getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year instead of the Ultimate Warrior.
