In an recent interview with TMZ, Sting confirms he has signed a Public Relations contract with WWE. He goes on to state that he wants to sign a talent deal with the company, so that he can wrestle at least one match at WrestleMania.

Much like he confessed to in his recent interview with UK’s The Mirror, Sting claims that he wants to work at least one match for WWE, preferably against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31. In regards to why he wants to work for Vince McMahon’s company before hanging up his boots for good, Sting claims,

“At my age, it’s now or never! The wave is coming into the shore.”

This report confirms that Sting has signed some sort of deal with WWE, just not one that allows him to work as an in-ring talent. Dave Meltzer recently reported that the reason Sting has not signed this type of deal with WWE yet is all due to finances. Sting has a number in his head of what he is worth, and will not commit to working for WWE unless that number is met.

Sting can appear for WWE at events and on WWE Network specials under a PR contract. Ric Flair recently was signed to a PR contract before signing on for a regular on-camera roll. Under that PR contract, Flair’s appearances had to be approved by WWE, who could call on Flair at anytime and make him cancel something he had on the books if they needed him. It is uncertain at this time if the same rules apply to Sting.

All that is for sure about Sting, is nothing is for sure, and that he is the pre-order bonus for “WWE 2K15.” If you pre-order now, you get two versions of Sting: “Surfer” Sting from the late ’80s-early ’90s, and “Crow” Sting from the late ’90s. You can pre-order the game here – “WWE 2K15” Pre-Order!

Editor’s Note:
Ok. So Sting is under the WWE umbrella for sure, just not as a wrestler. Let’s hope he gets cleared and signed soon so we can see him strap on some boots one last time before he retires for good.
