There is speculation on why Zack Ryder was squashed on “RAW.” During the Sept. 1 edition of WWE’s flagship show, Ryder jobbed (lost) to Rusev for the up-teenth time, and in pitiful fashion. Ryder lost in what is affectionately referred to as a “squash match,” meaning he entered the ring and was dominated very quickly.
The match lasted less than two minutes, and saw Rusev win via submission. With the Accolade, Rusev would force “The Internet Champion” to tap out almost instantly. According to Bryan Alvarez and Dave Metlzer during the Sept. 2 edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio,” there may be more to Ryder’s loss than meets the eye.
According to “Wrestling Observer Radio,” the belittling of Ryder may have been in response to negative tweets that have come from “The Internet Champ” over recent weeks. The speculation claims that Ryder was recently speaking ill about the company and its practices, which led him to being squashed on television. It should be noted that just last month, Ryder gained his first victory on “Monday Night Raw” in some time.
It was said that his negative remarks came after this win, which led to him getting “JTG’d” during the Sept. 1 episode.
Editor’s Note:
I will go on record saying this one more time. Ryder may be one of, if not the first out the door when WWE makes another series of cuts. Period.
