WWE has announced that former WWE Champion Sheamus will return during the March 30 edition of “RAW” on USA. As previously reported, Sheamus was originally scripted to return at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, however the company decided to hold off on having the Celtic Warrior re-emerge until the night after the “Show of Shows.”
Sheamus hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since November of 2014. His last match was against Rusev on Nov. 3, where he lost the United States Championship to the Bulgarian Brute live on the WWE Network following “Monday Night Raw.”
The Irishman has been rehabilitating injury, as well as reportedly filming scenes for the upcoming new film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Sheamus will reportedly play one of the most iconic villains in film history in the picture, Darth Vader. Vader is expected to be featured in flashbacks during the film.
While it is uncertain as to who Sheamus will enter into a program with upon his return, many believe he will initially return during “RAW” on March 30 to a babyface reception, only to immediately do something heinous to become a main event level heel, something the company desperately needs more of.
Editor’s Note:
Welp. As I said on “Wrestling Warm-Up” the last couple of weeks, Sheamus will return the night AFTER ‘Mania. Should be a good segment and set up a feud, possibly with Daniel Bryan, Bray Wyatt, or John Cena. Cena DOES now hold the belt that Sheamus lost to Rusev during his last match for WWE in November.
