According to Wade Keller of PWTorch.com, former TNA Champion and recent NXT addition Samoa Joe has reportedly signed a full-time WWE contract as of June 1. As previously noted, Joe recently worked a WWE “Superstars” match against Tyson Kidd before the June 1 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” but at the time of his appearance, it was not known if he had made a new deal with the company or not.
Keller claims that Joe is now a full-time employee of World Wrestling Entertainment. Not only will he work in NXT, but he’ll also appear on the main WWE roster.
Following Samoa Joe’s NXT debut during the end of “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable,” Ring of Honor announced that Joe would be working their “Ring of Honor Aftershock” television tapings on June 20. With Ring of Honor then announcing that they will begin airing their “ROH TV” product on Destination America on Wednesday nights prior to TNA’s “IMPACT WRESTLING,” many believed that WWE would either have to modify Joe’s part-time deal, or sign him to a full-time contract in order to prevent him from appearing on both “NXT” and “ROH TV.”
It is uncertain if Joe will have to back out of his contractually obligated date to appear for Ring of Honor, or if WWE will allow him to work the June 20 event as a one-time deal, but Samoa Joe has reportedly signed a full-time WWE contract and will begin appearing for the company exclusively.
Editor’s Note:
WOW. They made the right decision to sign Joe to a full-time deal. He’s going to add a lot to both rosters.
