Samoa Joe Announced for Ring of Honor’s “Aftershock” Event
The official Ring of Honor Twitter account announced on May 25 that Samoa Joe will be appearing for the company during their “Aftershock” event on June 20. “Aftershock” will be taped at Terminal 5 in New York, New York on June 20.
Samoa Joe recently debuted for WWE’s NXT developmental territory, confronting NXT Champion Kevin Owens during “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable” on May 20. As previously reported, it is believed that Joe is working under a non-exclusive deal with WWE to appear on “NXT” programming, and is free to work independent bookings as well.
Joe made an appearance for Ring of Honor immediately following his departure from TNA Wrestling, returning to the promotion for the first time in 13 years. The Samoan Submission Machine, or “the Submission Specialist” in NXT, will likely work the “NXT” tapings on June 18 in Orlando, Florida, and then go work Ring of Honor “Aftershock” on June 20.
The tweet reads,

Much like Rhyno, Samoa Joe is expected to continue working “NXT” shows and television, but is allowed to go work any other independent date that he desires to. WrestlingRumors.net will update this story as soon as more details surrounding Joe’s deal with WWE are revealed.

It’s kind of weird seeing talent working in WWE (NXT)
