The WWE Intercontinental Champion Ryback is scheduled to appear during the July 27 edition of WWE “Monday Night Raw” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Big Guy may or may not be ready to compete just yet (as he’s been dealing with a staph infection since July 14), but he is being advertised for “RAW.”
Mr. “Feed Me More” discovered that he had a staph infection on July 14, just one night after the WWE “Battleground” “go-home” edition of “RAW” that took place on July 13. WWE then kept Ryback from competing in his advertised Triple-Threat Match at “Battleground” on July 19, where he was set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Big Show and The Miz.
Ryback informed fans of his status after WWE made the announcement, saying,
“After Raw Monday I woke up Tuesday morning before some media appearances with a severe staph infection in my right knee. I was brought to a hospital and put on strong antibiotics and had 90 cc of fluid drained out of knee in a 24 hour period.
We caught it in time thanks to the great WWE medical team and I will make a full recovery. Will be kept in the hospital for several days and I will not be able to defend my Intercontinental Championship this Sunday. I am sorry to all my fans and the WWE. I will be back shortly, but I have to get this corrected.”
Again, it has not yet been confirmed whether or not Ryback is back in fighting shape and will be able to defend the IC strap at “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23 or not, but he is being advertised by WWE for the July 27 edition of “RAW.”
