Two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16 World Champion Ric Flair is set to appear during upcoming editions of “RAW” and “Smackdown.” Flair, who is being advertised for multiple shows throughout July, will be making his return to WWE television for a rumored long-term on-air role starting on July 14.
PWInsider.com and F4Wonline.com are reporting that Flair is scheduled for the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw” in Richmond, Va., as well as the “SmackDown” tapings in Fayetteville, N.C. Initially, Flair was supposed to work the WWE Live Events during the July 4 holiday weekend, but WWE Creative held off on his return until his appearance on July 12 at the big Madison Squared Garden Live Event. Both Flair and Triple H will be involved in the Lubberjack Main Event Match featuring WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and Bray Wyatt.
Flair’s on-air position is still one of question. No one knows just yet what “The Nature Boy” will be doing, but reports have claimed for months that Flair would be returning for an on-screen role for the foreseeable future. Flair wants to manage someone like Dolph Ziggler, while WWE Creative had suggested Miz work with Flair again. With Flair wanting to manage someone that is a heel, Miz would be the best option, especially since Ziggler is already incredibly over and doesn’t need someone like Flair in his corner.
Nature Boy has also been working closely with his daughter, current NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte, and may continue to be used regularly with her down in Florida. We’ll have to tune into “Monday Night Raw” on July 14 to see just what Flair will be doing, who he’ll be chopping, and with whom he’ll be “WOOOO’ing.”
Editor’s Note:
Flair is BACK. Now…who will he be associated with? Last time we saw him, he was supporting The Shield against Evolution. IF you ask ME, I think Flair managing a heel Seth Rollins would be SICK. Also, I know that Sting will likely just be appearing in a “WWE 2K15” ad on 7.14.14, as he’s been teasing, but how awesome would it be to see Sting and Flair in a ring together again, eh?
