Hornswoggle is set to be kept off WWE TV for the time being. PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE executives have discussed keeping the littlest member of 3MB off WWE television until WWE Films’ “Leprechaun: Origins” is set to be released in theaters in August.
Hornswoggle has been used on WWE programming as of late, teaming with 3MB in an on-air feud with El Torito and Los Matadores. However, with the recent release of Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre of 3MB from their WWE contracts, 3MB is dead. Heath Slater is now moving forward solo, and Hornswoggle is not expected to remain associated with Slater.
This also puts an end to a multiple-month feud that Hornswoggle has been building with El Torito. The little bull defeated Hornswoggle at “Payback” on June 1, which led to Hornswoggle having to have his head shaved. Their last encounter was during the June 9 edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
“Leprechaun: Origins” is set for an August 26 release, meaning Hornswoggle will return to WWE TV around this time to promote the film. WWE’s annual “SummerSlam” PPV will take place on August 17, which means that Hornswoggle will likely make an appearance during the event.
Editor’s Note:
Well…at least El Torito vs Hornswoggle is over and done with for the moment. Win-Win.
