An independent promoter says he’ll never book Scott Hall or his son Cody ever again. Northeast Wrestling Promoter Mike O’Brien has reportedly claimed that Hall is acting like his old self, as far as personality goes, and that he would not be working with the WWE Hall of Famer anytime down the road.
The recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter includes a statement from O’Brien in regards to Scott and Cody Hall. O’Brien says,
“Scott Hall was his old self. Not his physical condition, but a real cocky asshole. You give everyone a shot. Safe to say you won’t be seeing me book him or his dangerous, green son again.”
Cody Hall has only been actively competing in the ring for a little over a year, which is why O’Brien referred to him as green. Although WWE has seemingly reached out to Cody about signing a developmental contract with the company, he has reportedly turned down multiple offers stating that he wants to travel and hone his craft the old fashion way working the independent circuit.
WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall’s condition has been in question as of late. He rebuilt his life throughout 2013 with fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts and friend Diamond Dallas Page, rebounding from serious alcohol and drug addiction. In April, he was inducted into the 2014 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame along side of Roberts, Lita, and the late Ultimate Warrior.
Roberts claims that Hall has been “slipping” in terms of dealing with his addictions and demons as of late, claiming that Warrior’s sudden death following the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony had a profound affect on Hall. However, O’Brien does not claim that Hall was his “old self” in relation to his addictions, but states that he was his “old self” in attitude.
Editor’s Note:
Hate to hear anything bad about Hall. Always been, and continues to be, one of my favorite superstars of all time. I got used to hearing all of the positive stuff in the news over the last year about him. I really don’t want to start hearing nothing but bad things about the Bad Guy over the next year.
