Arena Football star and NFL prospect Morkeith Brown recently joined Vaughn Johnson of Philly.com to talk about Brown’s decision to give up football and pursue a career in professional wrestling. Back in August, Brown made Philadelphia headlines when he announced that he was done with football and had signed a developmental contract with the WWE.

Brown had this to say to Philly.com,

“They flew me down for a workout in Tampa and said they were interested in signing a developmental deal. After the championship game with the Soul, I came back down to Orlando.”

Brown told Johnson that he declined taking place in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp in hopes of signing the developmental deal he is now a part of with the WWE. Brown is currently learning how to work a ring, taking bumps, hitting the ropes, etc. Brown comments on his progress by saying,

“I’m learning the small things first – how to hit the ropes, how to fall, how to take a hit, how to hit people and how to tell a story in the ring.”

Brown now joins the WWE roster along side of another former AFL superstar in Titus O’Neil, who once played for the Utah Blaze.
