The Wrestling Observer has published a story that provides more information about Percy Watson’s WWE release back in May. According to backstage murmurings, Watson was released from the WWE because of an attitude change. Watson had been an NXT performer for a few years, and had been added to the RAW roster to perform dark matches. He had also been featured during some WWE Superstar matches, tagging with then partner Titus O’Neil. Recently, he had been removed from the RAW roster, in which he was rarely used, and placed back in NXT. Apparently, Watson’s attitude changed once he was removed from the RAW roster, and he began not caring about his presence in the company as much as he once had. He constantly missed match run-throughs and practices.
Watson, real name Nick McNeil, was constantly referred to as one of the most athletic performers in the company. He is a decorated college football star, and McNeil also played in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins before entering the world of professional wrestling. His last televised match was on NXT programming, where he lost in a 6-man tag match against The Shield.
