MLB star Josh Reddick paid tribute to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper on July 31 during his walk to home plate every at-bat. Reddick’s Oakland Athletics took on the Cleveland Indians on July 31, falling to “The Tribe” in a 2-1 loss.
Piper, the late WWE Hall of Famer, passed away during the evening of July 30 in his sleep. Reports claim Piper suffered a cardiac arrest in his home, and was discovered unresponsive on July 31.
Many different colleagues, legends, Hall of Famers, newscasters, and other sports stars took to Twitter to honor the fallen “Hot Rod.” Reddick was one of them, as he posted the following before the A’s face the Indians,
Man @WWE lost a legend today. RIP to Rowdy.

Reddick then had Piper’s entrance theme music piped in over the sound system during the game every time he walked to the plate, paying tribute to the deceased. Reddick, a long-time wrestling fan, also paid tribute to the late WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior when he passed away in April, 2014 in similar fashion.

Gotta love Reddick’s passion. I love that he did that.
