The May 26 “Monday Night Raw” drew the least amount of viewers yet in 2014. The episode, which was a “go-home” edition for WWE’s “Payback” Pay-Per-View event, saw the lowest viewership numbers for the program this year.
F4Wonline.com is reporting that 3.59 million people tuned in to watch the program, which is one of the lowest numbers the company has seen in the “modern era,” when not posed against “Monday Night Football.” The episode falling on Memorial Day, as well as it running opposed to a NBA Playoff game between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers, will likely be looked at as the reasons “Monday Night Raw” did so poorly on May 26.
The viewers broken down over three hours looks as such:
8 p.m. 3.54 million viewers
9 p.m. 3.86 million viewers
10 p.m. 3.41 million viewers
WWE officials are said to be unhappy with the drop of audience figures during the third hour, especially with the episode being the “Payback” go-home show.
Editor’s Note:
I mean…the show was bad. I’ve been a fan since I was 7…and have been watching intently every Monday night for the last 22 years. Monday’s go-home show for “Payback” did NOTHING to make me want to order the PPV. If I didn’t subscribe to the WWE Network, I would likely be streaming the event illegally, as opposed to purchasing it.
