Current WWE United States Champion John Cena has been pulled from upcoming WWE shows that lead into “SummerSlam” on Aug. 23. This includes WWE’s upcoming Australian tour, which will take place Aug. 6-8.
WWE claimed that Cena was rushed to an emergency room in Oklahoma where “RAW” took place, then was sent to have emergency surgery on July 28 to work on the breathing issues he was having as a result of the injury. Reports claim that he may need reconstructive surgery to repair the nose, and he may miss several weeks of competition.
Cena was believed to be entering a WWE World Heavyweight Championship program with Rollins, where the two were possibly set to face each other at “SummerSlam” in Brooklyn, New York. It should be noted, that although Cena has been pulled from just about every WWE event leading up to “SummerSlam,” he is still being advertised for the episode of “RAW” set to take place on Aug. 17, just six days before “SummerSlam.”
Editor’s Note:
Looks like he’s going to probably have surgery and sit out as long as possible, but I guarantee you he wrestles at “SummerSlam.” He may even win the title, only to be cashed-in on by Sheamus. We’ll see.
