WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has a big idea for the 2014 Royal Rumble match. In a blog recently posted on his official website, JRsBarBQ.com, Ross presents the idea of having the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble match challenge the Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak, instead of becoming the number-one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
In regards to his stipulation suggestion, Ross says,
“Hmmm, what if the winner of the Royal Rumble decided to challenge the Undertaker at WrestleMania in New Orleans and not the WWE World Champion? Then February’s PPV could determine the Title challenger in some sort of competition that is culminated in that one night on PPV? Hey, it’s just an idea.”
Ross could have a brilliant idea lurking in his blog post. The question of, “who will face the Undertaker’s streak?,” always begins around January of each year. “The Streak Match” has become a main event for WrestleMania over the last six years or so, existing as a similar attraction for the event as the annual WWE Championship bout.
With no clear opponent for the Undertaker at the moment, Ross’ idea could in fact be a one of brilliance. Being the man that ultimately destroys the Undertaker’s untarnished record at WrestleMania, could be as monumental to a superstar’s career as winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the first time.
